Tim Blaney is a puppeteer, actor, and voice artist best known as the unforgettable voice and puppeteer behind Johnny 5 in Short Circuit (1986, 1988).

 

A long-time performer with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, his puppetry and voice work have appeared in films such as Men in Black—where he voiced the fan-favorite alien Frank the Pug—along with The Muppets, Dinosaurs, and Team America: World Police.

Jason james richter

Oregon native, best known for his breakout role as Jesse in the iconic Astoria-filmed Free Willy franchise! Jason continues to be an advocate for Orca whales in real life, supporting marine-life non profits globally. 

He also appeared in The Little Things, Last Call, The NeverEnding Story III, Bones and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. He recently produced the horror film Natty Knocks and directed his short film The Quiet Loud.

Toby helped bring many iconic stop-motion films to life, including ParaNorman, Kubo and the Two Strings, Missing Link, and the Oscar-winning Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio. A key figure in Oregon’s world-renowned animation scene, Toby has worked with LAIKA in Hillsboro and Portland-based ShadowMachine. 

Born into fantasy film royalty—son of Brian Froud and Wendy Froud—he also starred as the baby in Labyrinth.

At the age of 25, Gary produced his first film, Short Circuit, and 2 years later Short Circuit 2. In 1993, Foster produced the Oscar® and Golden Globe-nominated hit Sleepless in Seattle. From 1993-1996 he produced Just Cause, The Amazing Panda Adventure, Big Bully, and Tin Cup starring Kevin Costner.

In 2001, Foster produced The Score.  In 2003, he began a series of three movies for Marvel Studios: Daredevil (Fox/New Regency) starring Ben Affleck in the title role, which was followed in 2005 by Elektra, and finally, Ghost Rider.

Other feature credits also include Gloria, Desperate Measures, Loverboy and Side Out.

He is widely recognised for his role as Jake Fratelli in The Goonies, one of the most beloved adventure films of the 1980s, as well as Franz Sanchez in the James Bond film Licence to Kill. His extensive film credits also include appearances in Die Hard, Predator 2, and Showgirls.

Beyond acting, Davi is an accomplished vocalist, particularly known for his interpretations of the Great American Songbook.

Gregg Champion is an acclaimed director, producer and writer whose extensive career spans film and television. For Short Circuit, Gregg served as both Producer and Second Unit Director, helping bring the world of Johnny 5 to life on screen.

His many credits also include Walker, Texas Ranger, The Young Riders and Ayla, earning him a respected reputation for storytelling across both film and television.

Rico Topazio is a veteran puppeteer, performer and special effects artist whose career spans film, television and live entertainment.

 

His credits include Short Circuit, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, The Flintstones, Team America: World Police and work with The Jim Henson Company.

With a screen career spanning more than three decades, Marvin became a familiar face in both film and television, often bringing memorable personality and presence to supporting roles.

For Short Circuit fans, Marvin is remembered for playing Duke in the original 1986 classic, and running Johnny off the Astoria-Megler Bridge!
