Volunteer Code of Conduct
Our Goal
Volunteers play a vital role in helping us deliver a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable experience for all attendees, guests, and staff. By volunteering at the Short Circuit Event, you agree to uphold the following standards of conduct.
Professional Behaviour
Volunteers are expected to act in a professional, friendly, and respectful manner at all times.
This includes:

Treating guests, attendees, staff, and fellow volunteers with courtesy and respect

Following instructions from event organisers and team leaders

Being punctual and present for assigned shifts

Representing the event positively when interacting with the public
Guest Interaction
Our guest speakers and talent are attending as professional guests of the event.
Volunteers must:

Respect guest privacy and personal space

Avoid requesting autographs, photos, or personal interactions while on shift

Not approach guests in restricted areas unless it is part of their assigned role

Allow guests to move between areas without interruption
Confidentiality and Backstage Access
Some volunteers may have access to behind-the-scenes areas.
Volunteers must:

Only access restricted areas if their role requires it

Not share private information about guests or event operations

Avoid taking photos or posting on social media from backstage or restricted areas
Reliability
Volunteers are an essential part of the event team.
Volunteers agree to:

Attend their assigned shifts on time
-
Inform organisers as early as possible if they are unable to attend

Follow the direction of event staff during the event

Respectful Environment
We are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. Harassment, discrimination, aggressive behaviour, or inappropriate conduct towards guests, attendees, or volunteers will not be tolerated. Anyone engaging in this behaviour may be asked to leave the event and removed from their volunteer role.
Compliance
Volunteers must follow all event policies and instructions provided by organisers. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in removal from the volunteer team.
